Settlers of Catan is a very fun game. It was developed by Klaus Teuber and is trademarked by Mayfair Games. Rob Thomas created this online version as a research project while at Northwestern University. He recently made the source code available and I've added it to a different web server so we can play it. If the link below is not working, please let me know so I can get the server back up.
